Mudjimba morning sunrise

Welcome to my photography journey !

Since purchasing my first Canon film camera in 1982, I’ve seen the world as a canvas of endless stories waiting to be captured. Experimenting with angles, lenses and the magic of light has fuelled my passion for photography and shaped the way I see the world around me.

Early on my journey, I converted a small room at home into a darkroom. I’ll never forget seeing my first black and white photograph slowly come to life before my eyes. It almost seemed like magic, and I’ve always held a special love for monochrome photography, even though the magic of the darkroom has now given way to modern technology.

My passion for photography led me to join a camera club, where I gained invaluable knowledge and inspiration from fellow enthusiasts. Through competitions and field trips, I continued to develop my skills while creating lasting memories with a community that shared my love of photography.

About David Evans the photographer

David Evans

For several years, I also ran a part-time photography business, primarily photographing weddings and portraits. During this time, I was fortunate enough to have several photography articles published in magazines.

Although I enjoyed those years of photographing people and special occasions, my real passion was, and still is, capturing beautiful landscapes and seascapes — particularly the spectacular locations found right here in Australia.

Many times I’ve travelled before dawn to a beautiful location, anticipating a glorious sunrise. Sometimes the conditions come together perfectly, rewarding the early start with an image that I hope will be worthy of displaying in someone's home.

Today, Ozzaz Images is focused on the photography I enjoy most — Australian landscapes, coastlines, seascapes, wildlife and the special moments that make a place memorable.

As you browse my photographs, I hope they evoke an emotion through their beauty, composition, colour, contrast, light or simply the feeling captured within the image.
